Lichtblick School: The Istanbul Photo Workshop
with Frederic Lezmi & Wolfgang Zurborn
6-day Workshop: 11.-16. October 2014
Gallery of Photography / Meeting House Square, Temple Bar, Dublin, Ireland
Opening night: September 11th, 6.00pm
The show will be opened by Paul Seawright.
Simon Burch will give a talk on Friday 19th September at 7pm.
A series of guided tours by the exhibition artists will also take place throughout the run of the show.
This exhibition brings together work by the Belfast School of Art 2014 MFA Photography Graduates. The 15 photographers represent diverse points of view, which collectively succeed in reimagining the way we live now. Reflecting on social and economic landscapes, the artists reveal singular and communal identities, the parameters of which are unbounded, drawn and redrawn as they are, by both time and history. These artists are creating work that raises important issues in what is a testing time for Ireland.
Open to the public :: September 6th – 21st
Official Launch party :: September 11th - 6pm
Artist Talk :: September 19th - 7pm
'A Secret' – curated & designed by Aoife O’Dwyer – started online in 2012 as a photography blog that always had aspirations of finding its way into print.
Now after an open call for submissions the online mag is in the process of becoming a print magazine. The first issue will feature photography as well as anonymously submitted ‘secrets’ in the hopes of creating both a beautiful & intriguing zine.
These funds will help towards the costs of printing a high quality A5 sized magazine as well as towards the production & marketing costs for an official launch and photography exhibition to be held later in the year.
If you can, please support the campaign or spread the word to help bring ‘A Secret’ to life!
